CSDIAI President, 2007-2008

President’s Message

As we enter into another year for this long-standing organization, I wish to recognize each and every one of the members for their contributions to Forensic Science.  It is your commitment to your career and profession, which brought you to CSDIAI.  Your desire to learn new techniques, to share experiences and stories, to make new friends, colleagues and mentors is what CSDIAI is all about.

This next year is not about me, as the President of this prestigious organization, for after I am gone this organization will continue to welcome new members and say goodbye to those that have passed on.  This next year is about you and what you will contribute to your job, your family and this organization.  I welcome members to come forward and take the first step in becoming involved in CSDIAI.  I took the step in 1995 by sitting on a committee and you too can do the same.  If you say to yourself, I don’t have time to be on a committee because I have a family, use myself as an example I have a two-year old and a full time job, it is not impossible.  By getting involved in the CSDIAI, you can add your participation to your resume’ and add some credence to your voir dire.  When you tell the court, I am on the Board of Directors for the California State Division, International Association for Identification that really says something about you!  Please contact a member of the Board of Directors or myself if you want to become involved in CSDIAI.  We will get you involved and you won’t be disappointed.

A good place to start getting involved is to attend the Mid-year Executive Board Meeting in Monterey.  Members are invited to attend the meeting and voice your concerns, suggestions and debate the issues.

The next CSDIAI conference will be May 4 – 9, 2008 at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California so mark your calendars.  Additional information will be forthcoming.
